T he following are examples of recent projects that
resulted in strong ROI successes for our customers.
SAP/SyteLine Interface
To facilitate the need for corporate financial reporting after
a corporate merger, a custom program was written for a Pennsylvania
manufacturer to load general journal transactions from an SAP system into
SyteLine. By automating this interface, many hours of labor are saved every
week and human error is eliminated.
Bank Reconciliation of Checks
For the bank to automatically reconcile and validate checks
that are cashed in the name of this Indiana SyteLine company, DevRunner
provided a utility. It exports AP Check data from SyteLine in a format that is
prescribed by the bank. After exporting, the file is then transmitted to the
bank. This utility made it possible for the company to leverage the bank’s
reconciliation process thus increasing security against check fraud.
Background Invoice Print and Post
Standard SyteLine design restricts the number of users who
can print and post invoices to one. This limitation can disrupt workflow and
expediency of invoicing because all other users are locked out. A modification
was designed for an Ilinois tool manufacturer to allow this process to run in
the background queue at night. Error messages are logged and daytime users are
no longer restricted while print and post is running. The result of this
enhancement is higher system availability for the A/R staff during the day,
thus keep them much more productive.
Programmer Support
One California customer’s programmer was tasked to write
several modifications in SyteLine 7. He had researched the architecture on his
own and was familiar with some of the database. However, he ran into several
stumbling blocks during his design phase due to his lack of experience with
the environment. DevRunner provided programmer support in order to review his
issues and answer questions via phone and email. Design solutions were
suggested which allowed him to then proceed with development under his own
power. In the end, their programmer stayed productive on his project while
maintaining personal control of it, and his programming knowledge was
significantly increased.
EDI Mapping
An east coast consumables manufacturer was required to add
Ace Hardware as an EDI trading partner. They did not have adequate experience
with their EDI translator product, Sterling Gentran, to do this on their own.
DevRunner provided services to quickly set up the trading partner and map the
appropriate transaction fields to SyteLine. This project alleviated the
immediate need to hire an EDI administrator, thus saving staffing costs.
